Case study on the production of miniaturized panoramic display models for industrial production lines

1、 Overall planning and material architecture

This project is a 1:50 scale panoramic model of an industrial production line created for a large manufacturing enterprise. It presents the complete planning layout, building structure, production equipment, and pipeline system of the entire factory area in a three-dimensional miniature format. The model adopts a layered design, presenting three levels from top to bottom: roof structure, production line, and underground pipeline network.


The main body of the factory building is made of high-strength ABS board and CNC carved, accurately reproducing the steel structure characteristics and facade details of the factory. The roof uses ultra-thin transparent acrylic panels to simulate daylighting strips, with visible truss structures inside. The ground system is poured with epoxy resin mixed with quartz sand, and the floor dividing line and equipment foundation are pressed out through molds.

Production equipment selects different materials according to the actual form: large press machines use aluminum alloy CNC machining, and the surface is treated with anodizing; Precision instruments use 3D printed photosensitive resin to preserve the finest structural features; The conveyor system uses special rubber to make the conveyor belt, with built-in steel wire to maintain its shape.


2、 Precision Manufacturing and Process Visualization

The model production adopts a multidimensional presentation method. The factory structure is designed to be openable, with the roof fixed by magnetic attraction, allowing for easy access to observe the layout of internal equipment. The underground section adopts a sectional display method to clearly present the depth of the foundation and the direction of the pipeline network.


The process logic visualization system is the core highlight of this project:

Material flow system: embed blue LED light strips along the material conveying path, simulate the direction and speed of material flow through program control

Energy flow system: Fiber optic cables are installed inside the main energy pipeline, emitting orange light to indicate energy transmission

Information flow system: using pulsed green LED dot matrix to represent the transmission process of data signals

Status indication system: Each workstation is equipped with a three color LED, which displays the status of operation, shutdown, maintenance, etc. through programming


The production of pipeline systems is particularly meticulous: steam pipelines are made of bent copper pipes and coated with insulation materials; The hydraulic pipeline adopts stainless steel thin tubes of different diameters; The cable tray is made of etched sheets and has colored insulated cables arranged inside. All pipelines shall be installed according to the actual direction, and the medium type shall be distinguished by color.


3、 Surface Treatment and Environmental Creation

The surface treatment adopts industrial grade standards. After multiple rounds of polishing, the exterior walls of the building are sprayed with special textured paint to reproduce the texture of industrial plants. Metal equipment is first sprayed with conductive primer, then colored using electrostatic spraying technology, and finally coated with wear-resistant varnish. The pipeline system is color coded according to industrial standards, and standard color codes are used for pipelines with different media.


Carefully crafted environmental details: Traffic markings are set up on the factory roads, and parking space signs are drawn in the parking areas. The surrounding greenery adopts real moss and miniature vegetation, and the landscape trees use finely cast metal trunks combined with special sponge crowns. The character design is customized according to different positions, wearing work clothes and safety helmets.


Special emphasis is placed on creating a sense of realism: appropriate wear marks are made on the surface of the equipment, pressure marks are made on the ground for equipment installation, and slight leakage effects are observed at pipeline joints. Even including miniature safety warning signs, fire-fighting facilities, tool cabinets and other detailed items.


The lighting system adopts intelligent control and can demonstrate different production modes: green material flow is displayed during normal production, yellow warning is displayed during line change adjustment, and red identification is displayed during equipment maintenance. Through iPad, you can control the switching of lighting scenes and intuitively explain the production process and factory operation logic.


The final industrial production line model not only accurately reproduces the physical layout of the factory, but also transforms complex production processes and material energy flow into intuitive visual language through advanced lighting visualization systems. When the lighting system is activated, the entire factory seems to be infused with life, materials flow like blood in the blood vessels, and energy beats like a pulse in the pipes, providing viewers with an immersive experience of deep understanding of industrial manufacturing systems
