Case Study of 1:2 Scale Single Car Model Production for High Speed Rail Fuxing

1、 Project Overview

This project produces a 1:2 scale model of a single carriage of the Fuxing train, with a total length of approximately 13.5 meters, a width of approximately 1.7 meters, and a height of approximately 1.9 meters. The model focuses on restoring the appearance features, painting details, and key components of the vehicle body, using a "steel frame support+composite skin" structure to ensure structural stability and detail expression.

2、 Main structure and material selection

The load-bearing structure is formed by welding 50 × 50mm galvanized steel frame, and cross reinforcement bars are installed inside. The base layer skin is made of 3mm aluminum alloy plate CNC pressed, and the surface is covered with 2mm ABS plate for refinement of the shape. The car window is made of 8mm tempered glass that is hot bent to ensure safety and transparency.

3、 Vehicle body manufacturing process flow

Steel frame construction: segmented welding according to the three-dimensional digital model, with reserved maintenance channels

Skin installation: The aluminum plate is fixed to the skeleton with anti loosening rivets, and the joints are filled with automotive grade atomic ash

Detail production:

Streamlined headstock is carved with high-density polyurethane foam and reinforced with glass fiber reinforced plastics

The bogie is assembled by laser cutting and welding 10mm steel plates

The car door system is equipped with a pneumatic rod to achieve smooth opening and closing

4、 Surface treatment and painting

Adopting automotive manufacturing standard processes:

Surface pretreatment: epoxy primer spraying, 60 ℃ baking curing

Fine polishing: Three water grinding treatments (1000 mesh → 1500 mesh → 2000 mesh)

Painting operation:

The main color spray uses two-component polyurethane automotive paint, customized to match the "Revival Red" color code

The ribbon boundary adopts flexible mask tape for precise positioning

Identification using automotive grade film, CNC cutting molding

5、 Key interior restoration

Cab: Restore the basic layout of the control panel, and use printed backlight panels in the instrument area

Cabin area:

The seat frame is made of steel and covered with customized fabric on the surface

The luggage rack is injection molded with ABS

Laying anti slip rubber flooring on the ground

6、 Detail expression

Vehicle lighting system: The headlights use LED modules with adjustable brightness

Surface effect: using automotive polishing technology, with key areas treated with aging

Safety measures: Apply explosion-proof film to the car windows and round the corners
